How to get the best Intimate Wax

After speaking to clients this week, I've heard some horror stories of previous waxes or their friends that had a wax but were either left disappointed, embarrassed, baffled and even worse, injured and for that reason never waxed again and try to convince everyone else not to get waxed. Why? Because they had a bad experience. Why did they have a bad experience? Quite simply - they didn't do their research.

Before you decide to drop your strip off, climb up on a waxing table, get into the Brazilian (Clockwork Orange) Position One (my clients know this position well) and allow someone to put hot wax all over your bits, there are some very important things to consider:

To find your perfect waxer, research your waxer thoroughly

Ask your waxer are they specifically trained in intimate waxing, who they trained with, do they solely use hot wax (always ensure that intimate waxing is carried out using hot wax - strip wax is barbaric in my opinion), what products they use and are they able to provide clients reviews. All great waxers take a pride in their work and are more than happy to answer these questions, if they don't then look elsewhere. I promise you, your intimate area will thank you for it!

Cheap Skates Beware!

This is not the service I would be trying to save my pennies on or try bartering for. The old saying is very true “You get what you pay for.” What the saying doesn’t tell you is, if you decide to go cheap, you could wind up with more problems than you initially bargained for - either the technique can be poor and hurt or cheap products can cause reactions. Remember, this is your prized possession, not a “buy one get one free” on Persil.

Convenience?

I’ve seen potential clients decide to go somewhere else for a few different reasons. One being that the new client decides on a whim that they want to get waxed. They contact a reputable waxer and are adamant about getting waxed that day and sometimes within the hour! But that isn't always achievable. Why? Because waxing isn’t something you can do on a whim. There is specific protocol when preparing your bits to get waxed properly. So if a responsible, professional, waxer tells you, that they are not able to get you in ‘immediately’ due to either - there is not enough growth or the fact that they may be booked solid…listen to them and acknowledge that your lack of planning cannot always magic free an appointment or hair growth. Don’t think that we are being hard to get along with, pushing our weight around or bing a diva. We want to give you the best wax possible.  We want you to leave feeling confident, silky smooth and leave extremely happy with your wax. Ensure to take the extra time, follow protocol and please book in advance, infact book your appointments 6 months inadvance - you can always reschedule if anything comes up because if you go off schedule, you'll struggle to get back on target. Being patient and planning ahead our can save you disappointment. Another reason, if not convenience, is often location. Don’t let a few miles or even 50 milea get in the way of receiving a great Brazilian/Manzilian with a trusted, safe, accredited therapist. Always go to someone that you know has your best interest at heart & loves waxing. Trust, safety, loyalty, cleanliness and professionalism should be instrumental in your search - not time, not miles and not price.

Jack Of All Trades, Master of None

An accredited waxer should educate you on the benefits of waxing, pre and post, and should always be available for you to contact if any concerns or questions should arise. You should leave your appointment knowing that you just received a phenomenal wax and are well educated in how to care for your Brazilian/Manzilian. Many salons and spas offer waxing services (along with a long menu of other services), but, you should look for someone who specialises in intimate waxing. For the waxing professional, this isn’t a hobby. This is our business and being successful does not happen overnight. We are devoted waxing therapists who are extremely loyal to our clients.

Wax Savvy

Again, being informed and educated when it comes to intimate waxing is key. Your Waxer should be able to simply tell you what to expect, what to avoid, what to watch for etc. If they can’t simply explain it or can’t explain it at all, don’t take this lightly. Perhaps you need to rethink who you’ve scheduled your wax with.

Don’t allow just anyone to wax your bits. Be prudent in your search, make no apologies for expecting the best and for goodness sake, if you are not happy - state it at the appointment. You shouldn't go away with any hair or unhappy with your wax. I always ask clients to check that they are happy with their wax as I want them to go way saying I have finally found my waxer. I don't want them saying I thought it was a good wax until I showered and found hairs.

Remember...

don't take shortcuts, don’t look for a deal, don’t be impatient and don't accept anything but the best wax but do ask questions and do your homework oh and if you're in the area - have a wax with me.
